Karen was born in New Mexico and raised in San Diego as the daughter of an oceanographic researcher. Armed with her trusty Brownie Hawkeye camera she and her father spent many happy hours walking the beaches of southern California shooting natures treasures. Then it was off to the darkroom where they developed and printed the days “keepers” which bring back those fond memories even today.
Karen pursued a career as a Professional Paramedic, raised three children in the Midwest farmlands and thus the joy of photography was put on the back burner. She had the opportunity to move to the enchanted Arizona desert and then on to the Pacific Northwest near Sandpoint Idaho where she resides today.
She is now armed with a Canon D-20 which she used to document her children’s book “Mergus the Merganser Duckling: A Journey up the River called Priest”. Please click thru this website to view Karen’s works and be sure to print a copy of this months free calendar.
